Finn Balor immediately made an impact in his very first week on Monday Night Raw by earning a spot in the WWE Universal Championship match at SummerSlam. Rumor has it that Balor may end up defeating Seth Rollins and become the first-ever WWE Universal champion.
The Demon was drafted fifth overall, which means that the WWE needed to book him strongly. In his very first match on the main roster, he defeated Cesaro, Kevin Owens and United States champion Rusev in a Fatal 4-Way match.
Later that night, Balor went on to pin Roman Reigns cleanly after hitting his Coup De Grace finisher. The win catapulted the former NXT champion to one of the main events of SummerSlam, as he will be facing Rollins to determine the first-ever WWE Universal champion.
According to Daily DDT, the Irish superstar should become the first WWE Universal champion to legitimize the "New Era" of the company. Even though Rollins is part of WWE's future, it would be much better if the longest reigning NXT champion in history make memoir at SummerSlam.
Balor already defeated four established stars, including a three-time WWE World champion in Reigns, and getting a win over Rollins will instantly make The Demon a top superstar.
In an interview with WWE.com, Balor talked about being called as "The Face of the Future" of the company. He was the face of NXT before he got called up to the main roster and being the face of the entire WWE is a big responsibility.
"That's a very flattering moniker, to be called the face of the future, and hopefully, I can live up to that. But for me, you know, it's my past, present and hopefully my future. Wrestling is my life. So for me, it's not just the future. It's literally everything I do," Balor said.
As pointed out by Daily DDT, the WWE should pull the trigger and have Balor win the WWE Universal title if they want him to be "The Face of the Future." They need to let him do his thing and see where he can take the WWE. Even though he lacks size, he has the look, charisma and gimmick to appeal to the casual fans.
Nevertheless, these are just pure speculations at this point but the WWE really teases the possibility of him becoming the first-ever WWE Universal champion. Check out the video below for the confrontation between Balor and Rollins in the latest episode of Raw.
