With a show such as "Supernatural," anything is possible. Supernatural and mythical entities come and go, and characters fans saw die before their eyes can spring back to life. Such is the case with Mary Winchester, Sam and Dean's mother, who is confirmed to return in "Supernatural" Season 12.

Samantha Smith made a comeback as Mary in the Season 11 finale of "Supernatural." With Season 12 on its way, viewers are going to see more of the Winchester matriarch. According to Tell-Tale TV, Smith has been in fight training and weapons training to prepare for her role. More specifically, she's been doing Krav Maga and working really hard since many of her scenes will involve hunting.

"I will be fighting and participating. And that is not something my version of Mary has done so far," Smith teased.

Dean and Sam spent their life without their mother, who was killed by the demon Azazel six months after Sam's birth. 33 years later, she was resurrected by Amara as a gift to Dean. Things will feel a bit different for the Winchesters now that their mother is back.

Smith revealed that there will be a lot of "exploring the deeper dynamics, learning to be a mother to adult children, and adult children learning what it's like to have a mom that they never had. There will be a lot of soul-searching."

Actor Jensen Ackles, who plays Dean Winchester, discussed the new mother-son relationship even further at the San Diego Comic Con. According to Variety, Ackles stated that there's going to be some interesting interaction between the family members as they try to close the gap brought about by their mother's 33-year absence.

Ever since the show started, the only family Dean and Sam knew was each other. They rarely ran into 100 percent biological relatives, so the feeling of having a family is new to the characters.

Meanwhile, Castiel and Mary will also form an interesting bond, both being outsiders to the Sam-Dean partnership.

Bringing them back into each other's life also means they're very protective of one another. Mary will most likely be hesitant about her sons following in their hunting roots. As seen in the "Supernatural" Season 12 trailer, Mary tells Dean, "I never wanted this for you and Sam."

"Supernatural" Season 12 air date is on Oct. 13.
