The Galaxy Note 5 was unveiled in August last year. The tech giant Samsung has just announced the Galaxy Note 7.

Let's take a look at the features of the two phablets.

Both Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 feature a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen.

The Note 7 uses Gorilla Glass 5 for protection and the Note 5 uses Gorilla Glass 4. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 boasts an Alway-On display that means that a user can take notes with the S Pen on a dark screen and not unlock the smartphone to do so.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 as well as Samsung Galaxy Note 5 support wireless charging. The Note 7 has a 3,500 mAh battery that is larger than the 3,000 mAh battery on the Note 5. Furthermore, the Note 7 supports USB Type-C charging, according to a CNET report.

The Galaxy Note 5 measures 153.2 x 76.1 x 7.6 mm and the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 measures 153.5 x 73.9 x 7.9 mm.

The Galaxy Note 7 weighs 169 g and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 weighs 171 g. The Galaxy Note 7 sports a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera and the Galaxy Note 5 sports a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera.

Both the Galaxy Note 7 and the Note 5 have a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

Samsung has updated the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 to Android Marshmallow. The Galaxy Note 7 comes with Android 6.0.1 M out of the box. According to several reports, the Galaxy Note 7 will receive the new Nougat flavor when it releases.

The Galaxy Note 7 (U.S variant) is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor chipset and the Galaxy Note 5 (U.S. variant) is powered by octa-core Exynos 7420 processor. Both devices have 4 GB of RAM.

The Note 5 is available in storage options of 128 GB, 64 GB and 32 GB. The Galaxy Note 7 will be available in a 64 GB storage option.

The unlocked Galaxy Note 5 64 GB variant costs about $792.99 and the unlocked Galaxy Note 7 64 GB variant will cost about $849.99.

Meanwhile, the mobile carrier T-Mobile is offering a huge discount on its Samsung Galaxy Note 5, S7 Edge and Galaxy S7. All these devices are available with no less than a $200 off if people switch to T-Mobile and activate a 10 GB or higher data plan.
