If Pokemon Go restores this option, players can look to Ingress to guess how it will select which gym requests to OK. The Ingress map was utilized to create the initial base map for the game's Pokestops and gyms.
For Ingress, players had to submit a form requesting that a place be turned into a portal. Ingress ceased accepting submissions in September last year. The place had to fulfill one of these requirements to become a new portal.
