Right after the introduction of Xbox One S, another announcement of a new Xbox console dubbed Xbox Scorpio in 2017 sparked fears of the extermination of the S model. However, Head of Microsoft's Xbox Division Phil spencer has told Xbox fans that Microsoft will align everything so that the Xbox One S remains in use.

Following Microsoft's initiative of Xbox Everywhere, which was announced back at the E3, Xbox Scorpio is purposed to bring sales back to the table. Apparently, customers are said to have lacked the will to purchase any Xbox hardware in the past as the real exclusives on the Xbox no longer existed.

Despite the doubts on Xbox One S' success from purchasers, the new console made a hit on auction sites such as eBay with leading prices. The sale success came as a surprise to many, and as good news to Spencer. He viewed the outcome as a productive defense mechanism that Microsoft took in displaying its future plans to the public.

Spenser took to Twitter to thank all the parties that had made Xbox One S sales become a success. He, further, took time in answering questions that concerned the Xbox as well as those regarding the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) platform.

For example, he clarified that the servers of the Xbox 360 games would continue to exist despite the discontinuation of the Xbox 360. This is attributed to the fact that the Xbox One's backward compatibility still keeps the Xbox 360 relevant, Gaming Bolt reported.

The Xbox One S is said to own a 40 percent smaller ultra-HD Blu-ray drive that backs up HDR. Also, expected technological improvements, when compared to the normal Xbox One, would include about a 7 percent to 8 percent faster speed for games that have unlocked frame rates.

While Microsoft hopes to see iTunes music play on the Xbox one, it wishes to make the Xbox One S and Xbox Scorpio compatible with all TV brands. This would be essential as they currently lack formats that have universal standards, Value Walk reported.

With the only existing hard drives currently being those of 2TB capacities for the Xbox, Microsoft has decided to consider customers, who are not willing to spend $399, by adding  500GB and 1TB capacities.
