According to Business Insider, the 67-year old author is currently preparing to launch a new book. Unfortunately for the fans of "The Winds of Winter," the latest book that the famous author is going to release is titled "High Stakes."

The same publication noted Martin's vow of not writing anything until he completes the sixth installment of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series, which is why his involvement with other novels will be questioned. However, the report cited that in technical terms, the famous author has not broken his vow, given that his involvement with "High Stakes" was merely as an editor.

On the other hand, since the 74th World Science Fiction Convention 2016 (World Con) is a few days away, rumors are surfacing that Martin will eventually release "The Winds of Winter" during the event, The Daily Telegraph has learned.

The rumor sparked after it has been confirmed that the event organizers of World Con chose Martin to be its special guest of honor; however, it was immediately debunked by Martin's publishing company HarperCollins.

The head of HarperCollins marketing and communications in Australia, Jaki Arthur, released a statement saying that they still do not know when the author will release "The Winds of Winter." Arthur added that as soon as Martin completes the sixth installment, they will promptly give the fans a publication date.

In addition, the marketing and communications head also commented about the rumors that the seventh installment of the series will also be released along with "The Winds of Winter." Arthur said that there is no truth about it, and fans' speculations are out of this world.
