"The Walking Dead" season 7 is expected to unveil one of its biggest differences from the comic books.

According to multiple publications, the comic books that were written several years ago only introduced the villainous character Negan, but didn't reveal his back story.

In the upcoming episodes of the hit AMC series, fans will find out what's motivating Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) to become the villainous character that he is.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Morgan confirmed that Negan's backstory will be unveiled in the upcoming episodes.

"We'll find out how Negan has come to be who he is. We're going to get some backstory very quickly on how the Saviors operate and how Negan operates," he said.

According to Cinema Blend, the fact that Negan's story may be unveiled in "The Walking Dead" season 7 may do the character more harm than good.

After all, the mystery surrounding Negan was what kind of made him an interesting villain. Nothing much was known about him except for the fact that he can so willingly kill anyone any time of the day.

Meanwhile, "The Walking Dead" season 7 cast members Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus recently opened up about the final scene from season 6 where Negan killed off at least one character.

According to Reedus, the finale scene from last season shouldn't be regarded as a final scene regarding the story of Negan because it is just the beginning.

"That scene was a change in power. And it's heartbreaking to see a quarterback broken like that just shut everybody down. Rick is an archetype. He's a hero," he said.

Lincoln added that the upcoming season will be quite a challenging one for the fans of "The Walking Dead" because they will see how heroes fall and rise.

Some fans are also very much invested with the characters that they might find it difficult to accept the demise of their favorite ones.

"The Walking Dead" season 7 will premiere on AMC on Oct. 9 at 9 p.m. ET.
