Taylor Swift has recently signed a letter urging government lawmakers to build copyright laws to make sure music piracy is controlled.

The move has come following the attempt of the Congress in reviewing the copyright laws and making some amendments based on the latest scenario. Besides Swift, other stars from the recording industry like Katy Perry and Paul McCartney have also joined the petition. All of them have called for required reforms in the laws to ensure no piracy existed.

According to the artists, as reported by NPR, the laws framed in the late 1990s are not relevant enough for piracy issues today. Instead, the make it quite easier for tech companies to tackle piracy on their websites and thereby make it again the sole responsibility of the music artists to discover illegal music filed.

Taylor Swift or other established music artists, if suffer from such copyright issues, it might not appear a major issue. But if a small independent musician who earns his living via music productions might face a great impact of mundane copyright laws. Small independent label operator Sam Rosenthal has been earning his living as a producer if electronic music since 30 years now. He admitted that he had to struggle a lot to keep his business "Projekt Records" working.

"It involves continuously finding more ways to save and downsizing. And trying to keep ahead of the decline basically," Rosenthal said. "I had 11 people working for me in the '90s and now I have two part-time people working for me."

Swift has been in the news regularly these days either for her online feuds with music sensations like Kanye West and Justin Bieber or her performance on "Dilemma" with Nelly at Karlie Kloss' birthday party. Her present relationship with Tom Hiddleston and past bonding with Calvin Harris and others have grabbed public attention nowadays. Among all negativities, there is someone who still blushes when talks about Swift.

While walking the red carpet at the FOX Summer TCA Press Tour with Scream Queens co-star John Stamos on Monday, Taylor Lautner mentioned his days with the singing talent as "good time." ET Online reported that he blushed as he said that those months were "fun" and he enjoyed the time.
