After Calvin Harris mocked Taylor Swift in his "Olé" video, looks like it is his turn to get ridiculed and it seems he is getting used to the fact that his high-profile relationship with Taylor Swift will be at the receiving end of jokes in future.
The 32-year-old DJ was recently forced to laugh off a joke related to his ex-Swift, Vanity Fair reported. The joke was made at the fiftieth anniversary gala of Caesars Palace on Saturday night, where Harris was given the Future Icon Award. Comedian Howie Mandel made a remark on his suit when he came on stage to accept the award.
Mandel commented on his suit and said that it was nice and then proceeded to enquire about the "tailor," who made it. The roasting did not stop at it, he further joked and said- "see, what I did? Well, the pun was clearly intended at his popular ex but full marks to Harris for taking it sportingly. He responded in a cool manner, saying Mandel got it prepared and ready.
The DJ then finished off his acceptance speech and it was loaded with heavy promotional stuff for Caesars Palace, Daily Mail reported. He remarked modestly that he does not receive these kinds of awards very often and that the club is the best in Vegas. That was all he said but the spotlight was clearly on the tailor joke.
More than anything else, it made one thing very clear and that was Harris' willingness to accept the reality. He is definitely coming to terms with the fact that his relationship with Swift has become a butt of joke. The publicity that they gained because of their public display of affection and intimate social media snaps is finally getting back to them.
During the time when they were dating, almost everything related to their love life was out in the open and the duo did not have any problem with it. But things changed when the relationship soured and now that it is over, the best way to deal with the jokes and trolls is to take them in one's stride, and Harris is doing that exactly.
