The WWE recently released Vice President of Digital Media Content, Joey Styles, after more than a decade of being under contract. According to the latest rumors, Styles was released due to his recent shoot interview blasting the reason why Vince McMahon loves Roman Reigns.

The 45-year-old former voice of ECW was reportedly released but the exact date and reason for it are still unclear, per Pro Wrestling Sheet. The last tweet Styles was made was on July 29, days after his controversial question and answer on Facebook.

During the Q&A, Styles criticized the WWE chairman for pushing Reigns down everyone's throats. He mentioned that the only fans The Guy have are "moms and kids," that prompted moderator Cathy Kelley to say that her female friends love Reigns.

"Bottom line is, if our chairman thinks he sees a future star as a babyface, that's how things are gonna play out. But the answer is Vince thinks it can work. He's been right much, much, much, much, much more than wrong over the course of the last 40 years. I'm sorry, but I'm not gonna second-guess the chairman," Styles said, as transcribed by Uproxx.com.

It is certainly not a good sign to second guess your boss's decision especially if that boss is Mr. McMahon. The WWE chairman has pushed Reigns atop the mountain for two years but has miserably failed.

The push eventually ended at Money in the Bank 2016 when he lost the WWE championship cleanly. Reigns was then suspended for 30 days after violating the WWE Wellness Policy. He was rumored to fail a drug test for Adderall.

Besides Reigns, Styles also blasted the name of the WWE Universal championship and the three-man commentary team. The release of the former ECW commentator has not been announced by the WWE but his Q&A video has been deleted on Facebook and YouTube.

Styles served as a play-by-play commentator for Monday Night Raw and the ECW reboot from 2005 to 2008. He then started working for the company's official website and he was eventually promoted to Vice President of Digital Media Content sometime in 2010.

Before being a WWE employee, the New York native was the voice of ECW from 1993 to 2001. He then became the voice of Court Bauer's Major League Wrestling for two years before joining WWE in 2005. He was also employed by the YES Network from 2012 to 2015 as a host recapping the New York Yankees' top plays of the week.
