Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder's marriage is rumored to be on the rocks.
According to IBTimes, the couple has been having marital issues ever since talks about Nina Dobrev's return to "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 swirled online.
In fact, even though Reed and Somerhalder were spotted attending various events together, this does not mean that their relationship is going strong.
Meanwhile, Hollywood Life was first to slam the reports by saying that Reed and Somerhalder's marriage is stronger than ever.
"Nikki and Ian are so in love. There's nothing he could possibly do to upset her. The idea of Ian and Nina reuniting on screen for 'The Vampire Diaries' doesn't bother her one bit. She has no issues whatsoever," the insider said.
Reed has also been sharing stolen photos of her husband via her Instagram account. The couple are also advocates against animal cruelty so their respective social media accounts are filled with snaps of their pets.
In other news, even though Dobrev has stayed silent over rumors of her return to the hit The CW series, executive producer Julie Plec shared what she and Dobrev agreed on.
"Not to put too much pressure on anything... on Nina Dobrev... but a promise was made. An emotional promise that I'd like to see come to life. There's been friendship promises made, and now we'll see if we can deliver on them," Plec said at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con (via The Huffington Post).
At this point, Somerhalder joked that Dobrev's return is already 18.75 percent confirmed. Zach Roerig, who plays the role of Matt Donovan said, "At the end of the day, we'd love to have her back. This show wouldn't be what it is without her."
