It is only nearly a month before "Agents of SHIELD" Season 4 will air on the small screen, and viewers will be able to meet the new character, the Ghost Rider. The lesser known version of the character Robbie Reyes  will be portrayed by Gabriel Luna, who recently gave a few hints on how he got the role.

Luna was not aware that a Robbie Reyes version of the Ghost Rider exists. He has no clue about the character when he was approached by Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." executive producers Jed Whedon and Mo Tancharoen. Luna dished that he even does not know that the Ghost Rider spirit of vengeance is with Reyes.

"Because there is so little material on him right now, a lot of the show is going to be expanding the Ghost Rider canon," Luna told The Hollywood Reporter. "That's really cool. It's all me. It's all on me."

Upon learning that he is playing Reyes/ Ghost Rider in the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 4, he immediately purchased the entire Robbie Reyes books from a local Hollywood comic book store and internalized his role. He believed that he is lucky for landing the Reyes version of the Ghost Rider instead of the infamous Johnny Blaze, which was portrayed by Nicolas Cage.

Luna teased that his characters as Reyes and the Ghost Rider are completely two different personalities. As far as his role as the Ghost Rider is concerned, he added that it is something that he always has to fight because it is an evil thing. He shared that he is looking forward to see the transition when the Ghost Rider separates from Reyes.

The actor has not commented on how the Ghost Rider will meet the SHIELD in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 4. For now, Luna is excited about how he will portray the role.

Luna has appeared in a number of TV series, including "Matador," "Wicked City," "Gravy," "Freeheld" and the thriller "Transpecos." He is also set to appear in "True Detective" Season 2.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 4 will see another cast member who will play the robot Aida. "Galavant" star Mallory Jansen will join other new members of the TV series, including new Director Jason O'Mara and Parminder Nagra, according to TV Line.

Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." returns on Sept. 20, at its new time, 10 p.m., on ABC. Watch the new season's trailer from SDCC 2016:
