Blake Shelton has released an apology statement on social media over some of his previous offensive tweets. Gwen Stefani's boyfriend explained that it was not his intention to post hateful messages against other people.
The country singer took to Twitter on Thursday, Aug. 18, after Shelton's past messages about gay people were uncovered. Some of the musician's previous tweets that were posted on social media from the period of 2009 until 2011 recently went viral, E! News reported. A Twitter user made a collage of the said "homophobic" messages and uploaded it on social media.
The said tweets were reportedly deleted from Shelton's social media account. Following the incident, "The Voice" coach issued a statement on Twitter to apologize for his offensive tweets. He stated that the people who know him can attest to the singer's non-tolerance for hateful deeds or words. Stefani's boyfriend also commented on how comedy or trying to be funny has been a big part of Shelton's musical career.
He even included a self-assessment where he described how his sense of humor can be "immature" and "inappropriate" at times. However, Shelton clarified that he never meant to upset other people or post hateful comments. The country singer ended his Twitter message with an apology to the people who were offended with his old tweets.

The "Came Here to Forget" crooner's apology message came several days after Shelton and Stefani spent a relaxing day at the country singer's ranch. Stefani, along with some of her band and concert crew members, visited Shelton at his Oklahoma ranch on Monday, Aug. 15, Us Weekly magazine reported.
The pop singer has been busy visiting several cities across the U.S. for her "This is What the Truth Feels Like" concert tour. However, Stefani and her team, along with the singer's children took a quick break and enjoyed a relaxing day as they explored the ranch, played games and ate delicious food.
The "Used to Love You" songstress even shared some their fun ranch activities on Snapchat. However, Stefani's reunion with Shelton was short lived since she and her concert team left the same day to head to their next concert tour stop.
