Nick Young could join Jeremy Lin in Brooklyn, with the Lakers still reportedly interested in trading Swaggy P.

The Nets may consider exploring a deal that would acquire them Young, who, according to the Kevin Ding of Bleacher Report, is still on the trading block. According to Ding, the Lakers are still considering moving Young and may even attempt to buy out the 31-year-old shooting guard.

"[The Lakers] have been trying to trade [Young] for a while," Ding said in a Bleacher Report Video. "They are still trying to trade him. They are willing to even buy him out if necessary to move on."

"Nick did bring a legitimate breath of fresh air a couple of years ago with his energy and his real pride in being a Laker when the team was terrible," Ding continued. "Unfortunately, Nick sort of became terrible and that is why they are ready to move on from him."

Young struggled with the Lakers last season, only averaging 7.3 points, while playing just under 20 minutes in 54 games. Young also unintentionally made headlines when D'Angelo Russell secretly recorded their conversation, sparking locker room issues within the team.

Earlier this week, Young made headlines when he announced that he was trying to fix his relationship with Russell, but that may hardly be a factor once the Lakers decide to end Swaggy P's tenure in Tinsel Town.

With Young's value at an all-time low, the Lakers may just opt to buy him out. Nevertheless, the Nets seems an ideal destination for Young whether it be via trade or signing.

The Nets are relatively loaded with prospects at the shooting guard position, but adding Young would provide them more depth at the two or three spot. Young could embrace a role off the bench, but should earn himself some quality minutes under Kenny Atkinson.

Absorbing Young's contract won't eat much of the Nets' $17.7 million available cap space, giving them more leverage in exploring mid-season trade deals.

The Nets have yet to show any interest in adding Young, but it is a move worth exploring for Brooklyn.
