South Korean actor Kim Woo-Bin, who currently stars in KBS 2TV's "Uncontrollably Fond," stunned fans with his new muscular physique. On May 20, the 27-year-old Hallyu star attended a fan sign event at the Lotte Department Store in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul, as Merrell's new model.
At the event, "The Heirs" actor spent time with more than 100 fans and treated them to photo and autograph signing sessions. Netizens then immediately noticed Kim's muscular physique, which is apparently more beefed up than ever before.
Recently, the latest episode of tvN's "The List 2016" put the diet routines of Korean celebrities under the spotlight. The episode showed how Kim shed pounds through intensive workout and diet plans, The Kpop Herald reported.
To achieve his muscular physique, Kim worked out two to five hours a day, which includes 200 push-ups, giving him a shoulder width of 57 centimeters. He also drank more than two liters of water a day and stuck to a low-sodium meal plan.
The actor, who made his acting debut in 2011's mystery drama "White Christmas," flaunted his well-defined six-pack abs in KBS 2TV's "Uncontrollably Fond." The drama's episode 4, which aired on July 14 with a viewership rating of 12.0 percent, saw Kim's firm physique, as he only wore a piece of towel after he got out of the shower. The photo was widely circulated on Facebook.
"Kim Woo Bin's body is really good," a staff member told All Kpop, adding that the actor underwent intense training in preparation for his role. "It's the best."
Co-directed by Park Hyun-Suk and Cha Young-Hoon, "Uncontrollably Fond" follows an ardent and cheeky love story between a documentary producer, Noh Eul (Suzy) and a bossy superstar named Shin Joon-Young (Kim). The drama's viewership ratings have been trending downward since it bowed on July 6.
One reason behind the ratings drop could have been contending from the MBC's fantasy drama "W - Two Worlds" starring Lee Jong-Suk and Han Hyo-Joo. It is worth noting that both dramas currently airs during Wednesday-Thursday 10:00 PM (KST) time slot.
