The fans already know that the name of Brie Larson was announced during the San Diego Comic-Con 2016 in July to play the role of Carol Danvers. However, one of the popular names for this role was the popular star Sienna Miller. There are many reasons why she lost the battle to Larson.

Way back in 2015, when the speculation was going on for the popular choice for the actress to play the role of the first female superhero led movie from the house of Marvel Entertainment, Miller had expressed her interest in the role. "I'm not someone who read a lot of comics and I don't really know that world particularly well...but I think it would be quite fun - for my kid as well. She'd like it'' is what she stated.

Hence one of the reasons of her rejection could be her lack of familiarity with the character itself. She played the role of Ana Lewis (Anastascia DeCobray / The Baroness) in ''G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra'' which was released in 2009. Since this was an American military science fiction action film, and her role was appreciated by millions of viewers, many hoped that Miller might be the right choice for the role of Carol Danvers.

Another main reason for the makers to avoid the name of Miller could be her involvement with two big projects currently. Miller is all set to play the role of Nina Fawcett in the upcoming movie ''The Lost City of Z'' which will be released on Oct. 15, 2016. Miller is busy with the post-production of this movie now, reported The Guardian.

Another big budget movie which has kept Miller busy lately is ''Live by Night'' which has a release date of Jan. 13, 2017. She will play the role of Emma Gould, and the movie is directed by Ben Affleck. Sometime back it was rumored that Miller and Affleck were going strong after the ''Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'' actor split from his wife Jennifer Garner.

Now going by the calendar of this extremely popular actress of Hollywood Miller, it would have been difficult for her to give dates to the movie ''Captain Marvel.'' She would have been busy with the post-production work and promotions of the movies until they were released which might have delayed the filming of ''Captain Marvel.''

Now since Brie Larson is the chosen name for this role, the fans are waiting for the revelation of the rest of the cast for the movie. Russo brothers, the directors of this upcoming movie clarified about the role of Larson in the movie, reported Yahoo Movie News. Anthony Russo and Joseph V. Russo seem to be excited to direct this upcoming movie and mentioned that initially they had thought about having 67 characters in it.
