Xiaomi has consistently maintained that it has no plans to launch its devices in the U.S. However, the company has now confirmed that it will be soon make a debut in the U.S.

Xiaomi VP Hugo Barra said through an interview with Bloomberg that the company is planning to enter the U.S. markets soon. It will make use of social media to promote its devices.

As it did in India and China, it may sell smartphones and other devices through flash sales. As of this writing, the Chinese firm is selling a few devices in the U.S such as Mi Band fitness trackers, power banks and Mi headphones through Mi.com.

Barra has confirmed that it is going to announce a new device in the U.S. in October. However, he refrained from revealing the details of the product.

In China, the largest smartphone market in the world, Huawei is at the top spot followed by OPPO and Vivo. Xiaomi that was leading the smartphone market in the country for two years in 2013 and 2014 is now down to the fourth spot, Phone Arena reported.

Recent reports indicate that the entire Chinese smartphone market is not doing good business. Hence, the arrival of Xiaomi in the U.S. can help the brand to earn good revenue and expand its business to wider markets.

Xiaomi is rumored to release three new devices in the near future. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 smartphone is expected to arrive with 5-inch full HD screen, Snapdragon 625 chipset, Android Marshmallow OS, 13-megapixel camera enabled with LED flash, 5-megapixel selfie shooter, and 4,000 mAh battery. It is expected to be available in 2 GB and 3 GB RAM models that will feature 16 GB and 32 GB internal storage, respectively.

Xiaomi is also rumored to release a Mi Smartwatch in the near future. Its specifications are not known yet but it is likely to feature a round display and it will not be running on Android Wear OS.

As far as October arrival of an unknown device is concerned, Xiaomi may unleash its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 in the US. Its rumored specs include 5.7-inch Quad HD dual-edge curved display, Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4 GB of RAM, and 4,000 mAh battery. Xiaomi may also the Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship smartphone that was announced in February this year.

There are other speculations that hint the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air that has been already announced in China will release in the U.S. in October. Its arrival in the U.S. may be aimed towards to rivaling the upcoming Apple MacBook Pro 2016.
