Action star Jason Statham who has a new film "Mechanic: Resurrection" shared about his failure in competing at the Olympic Games. He represented England in diving in New Zealand during 1990 Commonwealth Games and failed to get any medal. The experience remains a "sore point" of his life.

The 49-year-old British actor commended the increase of funding for the diving team after the success of Team GB at Rio Olympics 2016. He believed he may have chosen diving as the wrong sport to compete, Belfast Telegraph reported.

"I just heard they got seven million or something for the diving per year. They deserve it," Statham during the premiere of his new movie, "Mechanic: Resurrection" in Los Angeles. "I started too late... I should have done a different sport."

The actor appears more lean and mean as a mission-improbable hitman, Arthur Bishop in his new film. The role is a reprise of what he portrayed in the thriller "The Mechanic" in 2011.

The actor who usually starred in films which plots are mostly blood sport and revenge is true to his craft, always serious in portraying his character, with finesse and darting intelligence. He is a mechanic of murder, combat and ingenuity. His assassin-for-hire character, Bishop kills his targets and makes it appear like an accident as a way of leaving no trace, according to Variety.

"Mechanic: Resurrection" seems like a Bond film, or a "Mission: Impossible" movie, but with only one renegade. Bishop is undercover in Brazil and is chased by boyhood friend and foe, Craine (Sam Hazeldine) who wants him to kill three people.

Bishop does not want to kill anymore but Craine has Gina (Jessica Alba) whom he has rescued and fallen for. Though he desires to stop his murder-for-hire career, he needs to kill for love this time.

Too badass-to-be true Statham's brand is having no room for vulnerability, as an always cool killer. With lightning speed, his character in movies can make decisions, and use his gun which usually runs out of bullets. Then he can spontaneously find something to shield him.
