According to The Hollywood Reporter, Darden has played his role as Frypan since the first installment of the Fox film franchise "The Maze Runner." His character is the Keeper of the Cooks. This film was adapted from one of the dystopic male-targeted YA series of the popular books by author James Dashner.

"The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" was the second installment and the sequel to the 2014 film. It was released back on Sept. 18, 2015. It was a box office hit and earned approximately $312 million.

"The Maze Runner: The Death Cure" is the third installment of the popular YA franchise "Maze Runner," as Deadline reported. The production had stopped and delayed when Dylan O'Brien got seriously injured on the set back in March while filming.

O'Brien was hospitalized with injuries to his face. He was reportedly fallen off a set for "The Maze Runner: The Death Cure" that looked like the back of a train and then fractured either his cheekbone or orbital socket.

The production of "The Maze Runner: The Death Cure" was supposed to start on May 9 but was postponed to give O'Brien more time to recover. The crew went their separate ways. Now, the schedules are being worked out to move forward early next year with a new location.

Wes Ball will still be the director of "The Maze Runner: The Death Cure." T.S. Nowlin wrote the script. Wyck Godfrey, Lee Stollman, and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein are the producers. The 20th Century Fox has already rescheduled the film's release date on Jan. 12, 2018.

Darden previously made an appearance in "Joyful Noise" in 2012. He played as Queen Latifah's son, who has Asperger's and may be harboring a secret. His other acting credits are Geography Club, Cadillac Records, "Strawberry Summer" from Hallmark Channel, and "Explored" from Disney. He most recently was seen this summer in the Fullscreen dance-oriented web series "Making Moves."
