Moto Z and Moto Z Force has recently been launched in the United States and people are already expecting the Moto Z Play. Meanwhile, the Moto X 2016's future is still uncertain but there are rumors that the phone is close to being unveiled.

Lenovo and Motorola could finally unveil the Moto X 2016 at the upcoming IFA 2016 event in Berlin starting from September 2 to September 7, ChristianToday has learned. Moto X 2016 specs and features could finally be revealed by then.

There are also reports that the Moto X 2016 will actually be rebranded as the Moto M 2016 which means that the flagship status of the phone could be transferred to another model from Lenovo. The Moto Z Play could also be launched alongside the Moto X 2016.

Motorola's Moto Z Play will cost $408 while the Moto X 2016 has no price estimate yet. There are also no news whether the latter will have exclusive status for some carriers in the US.

Moto Z Play will be a Verizon exclusive in the US for $17 a month or maybe higher depending on the data plans, Engadget reported. For those who are waiting for an unlocked version, they would have to hold off until October for the Moto Z and the Play variant.

The Moto X 2016 is also expected to carry a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset the same as the Moto Z Play based on a leaked spec sheet several weeks back. Both phones will also have 3GB RAM but only the Moto Z Play specs have been confirmed and the Moto X 2016 specs will have to wait to be revealed possibly at the upcoming IFA 2016 in Berlin.
