As per the new showrunner and longtime writer Andrew Dabb, "Supernatural" Season 12 will  have a personal touch as viewers will be able to see stories dealing with the various characters. Towards the middle of the new season, Castiel will be featured in stand-alone episodes, a new thing which Castiel's fans will surely look forward to.

"That's very heavily about Castiel and the journey he's been on," Dabb told Entertainment Weekly about episode 12 of the next season. "Some things from his past that we're not aware of are getting brought to light." A Castiel-centric episode in the new season is coming, the publication added.

Dabb teased that fans can finally see Castiel in full battle mode in "Supernatural" Season 12. After being possessed by Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) for a long period, it seems that fans will be seeing a tough Castiel who is ready to take a vengeance against the devil this time.

In an interview with Zap2it at San Diego Comic-Con, Collins said that seeing Castiel as the badass warrior Cas and tackling the aspect of his character are his longtime dreams in The CW show. Although it took time before it materialized, it is now going to happen in the new season.

Season 11 wrapped up with Amara/The Darkness bringing back Mary (Samantha Smith) to life. Apart from the episodes focusing on Castiel, "Supernatural" Season 12 will see Mary adjusting to her new life of being a hunter and being a mother to her grown-up children, Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) and Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki).

The new season will also expose the truth about the Winchester's. Although the story has been pointing out that Mary stopped hunting after she married John, it was not exactly the case. Sam will discover that it was the Campbell family who actually led their life in the hunting business and not the Winchester's.

"Supernatural" Season 12 returns on Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW. Viewers can watch it every Thursdays after it was moved from its Wednesday slot. Check out the show's panel at the Comic-Con 2016:
