The "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 4 first episode is titled "The Ghost," Spoiler TV reported. With the word ghost, the title immediately started speculations that it could be a reference to Ghost Rider. Reyes' character came into the picture as the Marvel Cinematic Universe diversed into the strange and unexplained.

"We're opening it up even further to the world of things we don't totally understand," executive producer Jed Whedon told Entertainment Weekly. "Thor says, 'Magic is science that we don't understand.' Well, we're getting into some very, very fancy science."

The first photo released by the publication seemed to support the speculations that Ghost Rider will be seen in the early part of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 4. The publication shared the photo of Gabriel Luna as Ghost Rider, where he was seen posing with piles of junks.

Aside from the first look photos of Ghost Rider, the S.H.I.E.L.D. Twitter account also released a promotional video that shows the new character in action. He was seen driving his black 1969 Dodge Charger, also known as the Hell Charger, a deviation from the usual signature motorcycle of Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage).

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 4 will see the agents getting curious about who really Ghost Rider is. Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) are anxious to find out more about Reyes. They want him into their laboratory immediately.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." writers are known in changing details of their source material, but this time they plan to retain some of the key elements from the comic book. This season is surely an exciting time for the viewers to see not only Ghost Rider, but Jason O'Mara's unrevealed character and Aida (Mallory Jansen), which is the show's first Life-Model Decoy.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 4 returns on Sept. 20 at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC. Check out the latest news about the agents:
