Where the public is awaiting the announcement of the next president of the United States, HBO "Game of Thrones" has declared the favourite of fans - Jon Snow.

Te King of the North has won the election, though by a small margin. With an intention of the fiction show makers to promote their series to be released on digital platforms, the team launched the election to let the followers engage in the activity. The "GOT Party" election campaign aiming at grabbing online attention for the release of the Season 6 of the show seemed to be a huge success. People have participated and voted for their candidates belonging to the "Game of Thrones" fantasy world.

"Winter has come and the war between the living and the dead will not end swiftly. We have cast aside the differences between Crow and Wildling, bastard and trueborn, Northerner or Southerner, to fight a common enemy," Snow released a statement after winning the election as quoted by NY Daily News. "We have seen that we cannot survive the Long Night divided. Unity is a necessity to meet the challenge of our time, but it is only the beginning."

"The Long Night is coming, and the dead come with it."

The other candidates in the race to rule Westeros who participated with their running mate were Cersei Lannister with Qyburn, Jon Snow with Lyanna Mormont, Daenerys Targaryen with Tyrion Lannister, and Petyr Baelish with Sansa Stark. Where Snow-Mormont partnership led to 35 percent of the vote in the pair's favour, Baelish-Stark and Daenerys-Lannister managed to grab 31 and 32 percent respectively.

In the initial stages, as reported by International Business Times, Baelish-Stark seemed to be winning with 34 percent but it lagged behind the winning pair as it reached the final stage of voting. Where all the pair gave and took a tough competition, Cersei-Qyburn could not even garner two percent of the vote in the "Game of Thrones" election.
