The fact that The CW President Mark Pedowitz had said that a "Supernatural" spinoff is a priority for the network is fuelling speculations about it becoming a reality, reports TVLine. What has bolstered the rumors, even more, are past reports according to which Jared Padalecki aka Sam will be leaving the show after the twelfth season.

Many think that The CW is contemplating individual spinoff with the brothers. In future, viewers might get to see Sam and Dean on separate series. What is more, some are of the view that the network should create a spinoff on Castiel as he is a very interesting character and also a fan-favorite.

Talking of Castiel, he might be one of the numerous villains the brothers will fight in "Supernatural" Season 12,according to Entertainment Weekly. This is because showrunner Andrew Dabb had said in a recent interview that the coming season will be less about the brothers going against one enemy. It will be more about them getting surrounded by a slew of enemies when the season marches ahead.

He had categorically stated that the some of the enemies might be people who they have viewed as allies till now. Well, he did not hint at Castiel being that ally but his past interview with Entertainment Weekly does provide a clue about Castiel breaking bad in Season 12.

He had said that "Supernatural" Season 12 will see Castiel getting featured in stand-alone episodes and in a way that he has never been seen before. He also pointed out that the twelfth episode of the show would be the key episode for the angel.

He revealed that it would heavily focus on him and his journey. He also stated that it would shed light on some things from his past that viewers are not aware of.
