"Game of Thrones" Season 7's cast and crew will soon be heading to a new location in Spain. A recent report stated that a part of the upcoming season of the hit HBO series will be shot in Barrika on Muriola Beach.

The filming in the picturesque location will start in October. The town's Mayor Roberto Muñoz has confirmed the same with a local newspaper, though, he was admitedly not much aware of the details.

"Everything is surrounded by a lot of mystery," Muñoz told Spanish outlet El Correo. "We don't know exact dates or who will come, nor if new extras will be needed."

Muriola Beach is a wild sandy area that is said to be an ideal place for those who seek a quiet atmosphere. With the prospect of "Game of Thrones" Season 7 getting filmed in the town, the place is expected to see a surge in tourist inflow. Previous filming locations like Northern Ireland, Croatia, Morocco and Iceland reportedly get thousands of visitors looking to experience the real-life places where the fictional action happens.

While the storyline to be shot at Muriola Beach is still not announced, the fans of the show have formed their own set of speculations regarding the same. A popular fan theory states that the beach will serve as the landing ground for the mother of dragons, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke)'s massive fleet before she steps through Kings Landing.

Cast and crew of the hit series' upcoming season will also use the Basque coast in Spain to shoot a few scenes, after which filming will take place on Itzurun Beach in Zumaia on Oct. 26. Production on Muriola Beach is most likely to happen thereafter.

"Game of Thrones" Season 7 is said to be different from previous seasons for a number of reasons, primarily due to its shorter length and a later release date. Veteran actor Jim Broadbent will be joining the cast for a "significant" role, the details of which are still kept under wraps, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Meanwhile, watch below the final scenes of "Game of Thrones" Season 6, in which Lord Varys (Conleth Hill), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Daenerys and the rest of her massive fleet are seen bound for Westeros.
