Get your Eggos ready as Eleven, Mike and the rest of the gang return for "Stranger Things" Season 2. Weeks after the show's successful debut, Netflix has officially renewed it for another season, and producers are already projecting a "bigger, badder, darker" Season 2. "Stranger Things" Season 2's new characters, expanding storylines

For sure, the original "Stranger Things" ensemble will back for Season 2, which includes Joyce, Hopper, Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Will, Lucas, Jonathan, Nancy and Steve. Although fan-favorite Barb isn't expected to return, fans are hoping Season 2 could include a vigil for the character.

Aside from the original slate, new characters will be introduced in "Stranger Things" Season 2 and the storylines will be expanded.

"We're coming back with a few new characters, expanding storylines and mythologies, so it'll feel like the stakes are raised and more is going on and really delivering on the promise and pushing for more," Yahoo! quoted executive producer Dan Cohen.

One of the characters is said to be a tomboy named Max. The character is expected to debut in the first episode, aptly titled "Madmax."

Among the principal goals of Season 2 is to answer many of the questions that were left hanging in Season 1, and at the same time go deeper into the supernatural aspect of the show.

One-year time jump

In a previous interview with IGN, Matt Duffer revealed that Season 2 would probably pick up one year after the events that transpired in Season 1. The reason for this is mostly for practicality.

"You have to jump a year. Because like Gaten [Matarazzo], his voice has already dropped quite a bit, to the point where we couldn't even do ADR with him," Duffer said. "As much as I would love to have it be Christmas right after that, it's just not feasible, so we're going to skip a year. They'll be a year older and all their changes they're going through, we'll take that into account and kind of work that into the show."

There's also a chance the show will follow a similar format as the "Harry Potter" franchise, in which every movie stars a year after the previous one.

Hopper finds Eleven?

Fans have established after watching the show that Eleven is not yet dead even after she disappeared after vaporizing the demogorgon. She's still somewhere around town, and this is something Hopper is certain of. In the last episode, Hopper was seen leaving Eggos in a crate in the woods, meaning he's been feeding Eleven. Duffer previously mentioned they're entertaining the idea of having Eleven and Hopper reunite in Season 2.
