Fans cannot wait for "Rick and Morty" Season 3 as the cast teased a darker plot for their next season which will air later this year.

In the finale of Rick and Morty Season 2, Rick was shown to surrender for "all" of his crimes and was finally imprisoned. It is unclear what his crimes were and what will Morty, Beth, Jerry and Summer will do to get him back.

Fortunately, an early teaser indicates that Rick will indeed escape the large prison but not with his human body. He fights off other weird animals as a weiner-like creature and it cuts off, leaving the details of the escape vague.

Rick and Morty Season 3 will have 14 episodes in total compared to the first season's 11 and the second season's 10, Digital Trends has learned. With the success of the previous seasons, more writers have been hired to give the show more depth in terms of character and development and the seemingly improvised jokes.

Justin Roiland teased that there will be more Interdimensional Cable shows to be shown on the animated series as fans want more of the randomness. In fact, one Interdimensional Cable TV show might actually help name an unknown sea organism found by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

One USO found by NOAA highly resembles the Plumbus from the Rick and Morty's random cable shows and it could very well be the name once the scientists decide, Nerdist reported. The photo clearly shows that it is a Plumbus except for the fact that it is all red and is shaped like a banana instead of a whole circle.

There are currently no additional teasers yet regarding Rick and Morty Season 3 but the official Facebook page of the show does share some photos that might be part of the new season. For one, they showed the Meeseeks box which could mean that the blue obedient creatures will be part of the show once again.

No other thing can be done but to wait for the official Rick and Morty Season 3 air date which could be announced by Roiland soon. They have just finished their panels on the recent Comic Con 2016 in San Diego.
