With the closure of the number one torrents website in the world Kickass Torrents(KAT), the torrent lovers were left looking for alternatives. The torrent traffic has shifted primarily to the websites YTS, 1337x, The Pirate Bay, RARBG and Torlock.

Kickass Torrents founder Artem Paulim was arrested in Poland last month on various charges of copyright infringement. After his arrest, the site was also taken down and numerous mirror sites popped up. However, they were also served with legal notices and they had to go offline.

Most of the traffic shifted to The Pirate Bay and made it the "King of Torrents" once again in the thirteenth year of its existence. In an interview with Torrent Freak, the crew members of the resilient site said that The Pirate Bay is not perfect but all the same it will be around for two to three decades more.

The Pirate Bay team member Xe said that,"TPB ain't perfect. There are plenty of things wrong with it, but it is simple, steadfast and true. So it's no real surprise that it is once more the destination of choice or that it has survived for so long in spite of the inevitable turnover of crew."

However, now The Pirate Bay(TPB) is also facing some heat as its service provider CloudFlare has been facing some legal issues. It remains to be seen how TPB will extradite itself from this mess and continue to operate and serve the torrent lovers.

In lieu of the legal troubles of The Pirate Bay, users are wary whether TPB will also go offline or not. They are now looking for other alternatives to fulfill their torrent requirements.
Torrent lovers can search for torrents on YTS, 1337x, Lime Torrent, Torrentz2, BTScene, IsoHunt, Torlock, Monova and RARBG, according to the same publication. Some of these websites are blocked in a few countries but they can be accessed by Virtual Private Networks.

Apart from The Pirate Bay, another website, which has witnessed major traffic since the demise of Kickass Torrents is Extra Torrent. Around 30 million users visit the website on a daily basis and it is currently the number two torrent website in the world. It remains if it will also be forced to go offline or will be able to maintain its spot.
