YG Entertainment's girl band BLACKPINK won first place on SBS' "Inkigayo" on Sept. 11, Sunday, with their song, "Whistle." The four-member girl band released their debut album "Square One" on Aug. 8. In the recent SBS show, they were followed by Han Dong Geun who placed second with "Making a New Ending for This Story." Landing third is "BOOMBAYAH," also by BLACKPINK.

Other performers in the event this week were Red Velvet, Ga In, MOBB and NCT DREAM among others. MONSTA X's Kihyun, After School's Raina and BTOB's Hyunsik performed together for "Inkigayo Unplugged!"

BLACKPINK has also come out as the group with the most brand power or reputation in September. Coming up with the conclusion is the Korean business reputations research lab which collected data for brand measurement from Aug. 9 to Sept. 10.

The research lab considered indexes like media index, participation index, community index, reputation index and community index, Soompi reported. It likewise tried to check if BLACKPINK's branding affected how consumers conducted their online habits.

The quartet came out no. 1 with 7,468,374 total index score. The group which has Kim Ji Soo, Jennie Kim, Park Chae Young aka Rosé and Lalisa Manoban who are from South Korea, New Zealand, Australia and Thailand entered in and landed first in a single swoop during brand reputation analysis, the first kind of record for a brand.

Trailing BLACKPINK are I.O.I. with 4,127,257 score; TWICE with 3,766,917; as well as GFRIEND, Red Velvet and Oh My Girl. Also included in the list are Girls' Day, Girls' Generation, Apink, MAMAMOO, T-Ara, LABOUM, AOA, 9MUSES, EXID, April, Lovelyz, SISTAR, Wonder Girls and Gugudan.

Meanwhile, YG is to host a "Walking Festival" with UNICEF Korea to help malnourished children around the world. With the slogan, "In hope of children and teenagers to grow up healthy," the "YG X UNICEF Walking Festival" will take place on Oct. 2 in western Seoul's World Cup Park, Korea Portal reported.

Co-organized by Muju YG Foundation, the YG-UNICEF event will include a four-kilometer walk around Sky Park and Pyeonghwa Square, and a concert of the label's artists. YG manages famous K-Pop icons like Psy, 1TYM, 2NE1, BIGBANG and the new BLACKPINK.

An estimate of 5,000 participants are expected in the festival. The entrance fee is 20,000 ($18) per person. All profits will be donated to UNICEF Korea for the food and treatment of malnourished kids around the world.
