Manchester City pulled off the biggest win of the current English top flight season so far as they nipped cross-city rivals Manchester United, 2-1, in their first derby this term on the road at the Old Trafford last Saturday, as per The Guardian.
Head coach Pep Guardiola's squad was superb in the first half, drilling two goals, courtesy of midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Agüero fill-in Kelechi Iheanacho at the 15th and 36th minutes respectively, to grab the driver's seat in the high-profile matchup.
Manager Jose Mourinho's men tried to fight back immediately and striker Zlatan Ibrahimović managed to score three minutes before the break to make it a one-point game at the half, 2-1.
However, the two squads were not able to score in the second half despite several chances for both and so the halftime score remained as the final score in favor of the visitors.
The win kept Guardiola and his crew undefeated in the season with four straight wins. They currently sit atop the standings.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth nipped West Bromwich Albion, 1-0, at the Vitality Stadium also last Saturday to earn their first victory this term, SkySports reported.
English striker Callum Wilson netted the winning goal for head coach Eddie Howe's squad to finally give them three a win after starting the season with two consecutive losses to United and West Ham and a draw against Crystal Palace in their last match.
The Citizens are an overwhelming favorite to win over the Cherries in this match despite the latter having momentum with their latest victory.
