Lazio, who finished last season seven points short of a Europa League berth at eighth place in the standings, opened the new season with a high-scoring win over Atalanta, 4-3, on the road.

However, they are on a two-game winless spell ever since, with their last game ending in a 1-1 draw with Chievo at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi in Verona last Sunday, via SkySports.

Following a scoreless first 45 minutes of play, the hosts finally managed to break the deadlock six minutes after the restart with a header from defender Alessandro Gamberini off an assist by midfielder Valter Birsa.

Lazio was quick to respond, though, as center back Stefan de Vrij netted the equalizer just three minutes later also with a header from very close range, with the pass coming from a Keita header as well.

I Biancocelesti is currently settled in the middle of the league table, at the 10th spot, after their first drawn match of the season.

Meanwhile, last season's Serie B promotion playoffs survivor Pescara started their Italian top flight stint with an impressive 2-2 draw with powerhouse squad SSC Napoli at home.

Their second game was a controversial one as their 1-2 loss to Sassuolo was overturned by the Italian Football Federation into a 3-0 win for the club after I Neroverdi was found breaching the league's transfer regulations, making them unbeaten in their first two games in the Serie A.

However, their week 3 fixture resulted in a close 1-2 loss to another powerhouse, Inter Milan, again at their home ground of Stadio Adriatico last Sunday for their first official loss this season, as per ESPN.

The game was scoreless for the first 63 minutes until Pescara striker Jean-Christophe Bahebeck found the back of Samir Handanovic's net from a cross by teammate Francesco Zampano.

Inter was not to be denied, though, as I Nerazzurri captain Mauro Icardi netted the next two goals at the 77th minute and in stoppage time to help his team pull off the come-from-behind win.
