Since the first season of "Stranger Things" concluded, fans have been asking as to when the upcoming season will air. There has not been a specific date yet, but based on several sources, the sci-fi TV series will be returning before July 2017. In addition, several new characters will be included in the roster of cast to add another flavor of spice to the program.
Aside from the developments mentioned, Netflix teased the show would be even more "stranger." Showrunner Matt Duffer clarified that season 2 should be treated as a sequel since it is a continuation of the first season. Producer Shawn Levy also added the upcoming chapter is better described as a sequel rather than season 2, Slash Film reported.
Levy further said that although a lot of mysteries from season 1 have already been resolved, there are still a handful of questions left. The producer added the next chapter will take off from these unanswered questions aside from the introduction of new dilemmas to face and new problems to solve. He also said a few critical characters will be added.
For fans who thought Eleven's father is already dead, it seemed Matthew Modine's character was only heavily injured when it was attacked by the DemoGorgon. When asked during the show's premiere, he just left a cryptic one-sentence statement saying, "Oh, there will be a season two."
In a separate interview with Chief Hopper actor David Harbour, the 42-year old actor revealed him and the Duffer brothers have talked about the backstory of his daughter who died with cancer, The Daily Beast reported.
Harbour also mentioned what it has got to do with his character's guilt with the whole situation. He did not drop more clues as he said there are a handful of little Easter eggs all through out and several onions which will be peeled when season 2 airs.
