It is just two days before “Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki celebrates his birthday on Monday, Sept. 19, but as the day approaches, rumors surrounding him and Song Hye Kyo continue to grow.
Almost all entertainment websites are claiming he would propose marriage to Song Hye Kyo on his birthday. Those speculations, however, are based on fans’ belief that the two Hallyu stars are dating abroad and allegedly in a secret romantic relationship that they want hidden from the public.
For instance, Morning Ledger cited unnamed sources who claimed Song Joong-ki is “ready to settle down after years of singleness and independence.” Now, the website even added more speculations that the wedding would take place before the production of season 2 of “Descendants of the Sun” which is also another unverified report with no confirmation from NEW if the two actors are even part of a second season.
Similarly, GamenGuide is also riding on both the marriage and season 2 rumors, as it wrote, “the rumored couple is now excited to do love scenes in the upcoming ‘Descendants of the Sun’ Season 2.” It even claims their TV series wedding would be done in the forthcoming installment.
However, like other websites making similar claims, the portal has the disclaimer at the end of the click bait article that “Though these reports could possibly be true, neither Song Joong Ki nor Song Hye Kyo has confirmed anything as of yet.” Likewise, Morning Ledge acknowledged at the end of the article that “While there are no details whether the Song Jong Ki Song Hye Kyo marriage rumors are actually true,” and conceded all those imaginary scenarios are actually part of fans’ hope “that their favorite pairing make a relationship happen in real life.”
The more sensible followers of Hallyus, though, are waiting for confirmed announcement from either KBS or Blossom Entertainment about the season 2 details and from both actors about the other private details of their lives and milestones.
