Torrent lovers are searching for new Kickass Torrents (KAT) alternatives after the website went offline. Some new KAT alternatives are Evo Movies, My Download Tube, Ozo Movies, Haloamovies, Mogo Movies, MovieWatcher, New Movies Online, Movie24, Crystal Torrents and Sumo Torrents.
Kickass Torrents was forced to go offline following the arrest of its owner Artem Paulim. Paulim was arrested in Poland on various charges of copyright infringement in July.
Kickass Torrents was the number one torrent website in the world and after it shut shop, its users were forced to search for Kickass Torrents alternatives. The major share of the torrent lovers shifted to other torrent portals such as The Pirate Bay, Extra Torrent, RARBG and Popcorn Times, amongst others.
After the demise of Kickass Torrents, various mirrors cropped up but they could not continue on as they were also served with legal notices. Several scammers also took advantage of Kickass Torrents brand's popularity and launched a few scamming sites. These sites ask for the user's credit card credentials and then use various forgery methods for financial gains.
Gradually, the awareness about such websites spread and users were wary of sharing their credit card information on such sites. Many such scamming sites were also forced to close down, according to Torrent Freak.
There were also rumors that Kickass Torrents is back in another avatar as Katcr.to. This new website Katcr.to is said to have the same database of Kickass Torrents and it caters to the demands of the torrent lovers in a very comprehensive manner. It remains to be seen for long Katcr.to will survive or whether it will also be forced to go offline due to legal opposition.
Various new Kickass Torrents alternatives include Evo Movies, Halomovies, Movie Watcher and MogoMovies, which have torrents of movies in High-Definition. All the latest Hollywood blockbusters of 2016 have been loaded in these websites in the form of torrents. Haloamovies also lets you stream the movies so that the users can watch it instantaneously.
Besides these choices, torrent users are also flocking to The Pirate Bay and Extra Torrent. However, there are rumors that these two websites may be closed down due to legal issues, according to the same publication.
