"Gotham" Season 3 episode 1 debuts on Sept. 19, Monday. The highly anticipated premiere titled "Better to Reign in Hell" and it will see James Gordon return to his duty and move forward with his mission. "Gotham" Season 3 will see madness and chaos spread in the city. The show will pick up from where we left off and will delve deeper into the backstory escapees of Indian Hill that were released in Season 3 finale. At the same time, Bruce Wayne's doppelganger emerges.
According to Spoiler TV's description of "Gotham" Season 3 episode 1, Gordon is on a new mission in the city which has monsters lurking at every corner. He digs deeper into find more about Indian Hill monsters and their powers. He works as a bounty hunter in order to restore order in the mad city.
At the same time, Bruce Wayne's doppleganger roams on the streets creating more chaos. As for Barbara and Tabitha open a new nightclub called The Sirens where a lot of action can be expected.
Meanwhile, the network has released several promo videos teasing the events of "Gotham" Season 3 episode 1. It shows Penguin's return as he addresses a press conference where he calls out the people of Gotham to find Fish Mooney. Another trailer for the premiere segment teases Gordon's first meeting with an ambitious young journalist Valerie, also known as Vicki Vale. Scroll down to watch the trailers online.
In addition, the show will introduce Mario Falcone, Mad Hatter, Alice Tech and an adult Poison Ivy. At the same time, Fish Mooney will be back for revenge and Jerome resurrects.
Speaking to TV Line, "Gotham" star Ben McKenzie, who plays the role of Gordon, revealed that there is a dark path ahead for his character.
"He's obviously not in a great place," McKenzie told TV Line. "Jim had gotten a certain amount of clarity, ironically, at the hands of Hugo Strange, and he was really going to find Lee (Morena Baccarin) and bring her back. When that didn't happen, it really crushed him. So he's now in an aimless, dark place - but 'dark' in a 'bachelor lifestyle' kind of way."
