Kevin Owens won the WWE Universal Championship on the August 29 edition of Monday Night Raw but he might not be holding title much longer. According to the latest rumors, there is a big chance that Owens will drop the WWE Universal Championship to Seth Rollins at Clash of Champions.

With the help of the returning Triple H, Owens won the title in a Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match against Rollins, Roman Reigns and Big Cass. Many were shocked by the result but it was the swerve the WWE needed.

However, the reign of The Prizefighter might be cut short because of the low ratings Raw had since he became champion. The Raw Live Event also had taken a hit ever since Owens won the title. It should be noted that the NFL season has begun and Monday Night Football completely dominates wrestling.

According to The Inquisitr, Owens might end up losing the WWE Universal Championship at Clash of Champions due to the low ratings. It is still not been confirmed but the company might become increasingly frustrate.

When SmackDown Live's ratings recently became low, Dean Ambrose dropped the WWE World Championship to A.J. Styles. Nevertheless, it is still too early to judge KO as the champion since he has not held the title for a long time.

Also, Rollins has not fully turned babyface as the WWE is slowly doing it. Triple H has also not explained his actions of helping Owens win the championship. The return of The Game on television could at least boost Raw's ratings.

On the other hand, Owens dropping the WWE Universal Championship is not the best thing the WWE can do at the moment, per Tom Clark of Bleacher Report. He noted that Rollins being the babyface who chases the title is a great story.

It is also mentioned in the report that Owens has to build the credibility of the WWE Universal Championship first before dropping it. The title has not been around for long and fans still hate the design of it.

Nevertheless, the WWE is certainly planning a lot to combat the low ratings brought in by the NFL. They are bringing in the cruiserweights to Raw with Triple H possibly appearing. Check out the video below for an exclusive interview with the longest reigning WWE Universal Champion in history.
