With the news of Paige making her in-ring appearance soon following a suspension and the hoopla surrounding the departure of her boyfriend Alberto del Rio from the WWE, it's going to be intriguing how WWE creative will handle the return of one of the most talented female superstars on their roster.
Proper booking is crucial for a returning ring-worker is crucial for any career, especially if everybody knows the talent was coming off some rocky times off the ring. Therefore, it is important for Paige to be matched up with someone who can help elevate her performance and turn her into a relevant contender in the women's division.
In a top-heavy women's division on Raw (loaded with A-list superstars but lacks the overall depth Smackdown currently has), here are top three feuds Paige badly needs to invigorate her once flourishing career.
Nia Jax - This former NXT superstar is a physical specimen, a freak of nature that deserves better than squashing down local wrestler and washed out Diva like Alicia Fox. In order for Jax to build a reputation as the next big thing in women's division, she needs an adequate dance partner, and Paige perfectly fits the role.
As imposing as Nia Jax has been the past few weeks, Paige's technical skills will shine everytime these two competitors step in the ring. A long feud that culminates with a no.1 contender's match would greatly benefit the two superstars as they transition to their next foe.
Bayley - The hugger has been delightful to watch ever since she makes her debut the night after SummerSlam. Now, she's in the mix for the women's title, taking both Sasha Banks and reigning champ Charlotte in a triple-threat match at Clash of Champions.
A Paige-Bayley feud would give the division another intriguing story aside from the on-going see-saw battle between the promotions' top female star, Banks and Charlotte. Bayley's super optimistic persona against Paige's dark aura would guarantee excellent chemistry in the ring or on the mic.
Sasha Banks - Before taking some time off, Paige had a brief feud with Charlotte and that didn't look so well. However, I can see a better turnout if she ever matches up with Banks, whom many expected to retain and keep the women's championship up to Wrestlemania.
Paige hasn't been in the championship picture for quite some time. There's no better way to script Paige's return on Raw than the night after Clash of the Champions, coming out as the new no.1 contender for Banks' title.
