New details and possible spoilers for "The Flash" season 3 will feature the return of Patty Spivot and a new Killer Frost character being teased in the show.
Writer, director and comic book enthusiast Kevin Smith teased fans once again by tweeting a photo of episode 3 of "The Flash" season 3. Smith will be directing the said episode which is titled "Killer Frost", and it seems that the Scarlet Speedster and his team will be facing the ice cold villain in season 3.
Killer Frost was first introduced in "The Flash" season 2 as the Earth 2 doppelganger of S.T.A.R. Labs doctor and Team Flash member Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and is part of Hunter Zolomon/Zoom's (Teddy Sears) army of metahumans terrorizing her world's Central City. Killer Frost was killed by Zoom when she attempted to kill Prime Earth Caitlin as retribution for killing Earth 2 Ronnie Raymond/Deathstorm (Robbie Amell) in the episode "Back to Normal".
With the "Flashpoint" event happening in season 3, it seems that Killer Frost's return to the show could be a possibility since Barry Allen/ The Flash (Grant Gustin) changed history and his old friends have changed. Like the new version of Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), Caitlin could be different in the new alternate universe, however, several behind-the-scenes photos sees her just an ordinary person and is still a doctor, Screenrant reported.
YouTube channel Emergency Awesome theorized that Killer Frost in season 3 could be Prime Earth Caitlin Snow after the Flashpoint event and will likely gain powers the same way Cisco had in season 1. Another theory is that it could be a different version of Killer Frost as two other persons have taken the mantle besides Caitlin; Crystal Frost and Louise Lincoln.
In other news, another character will be returning to Barry's life in "The Flash" season 3 as "One Three Hill" star Shantel VanSanten stated that there is a "strong possibility" that Patty Spivot will be back in Central City during the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest event, ComicBook reported.
Patty Spivot is the love interest of Barry Allen in season 2 and is Joe West's (Jesse L. Martin) partner in the metahuman Task Force in the CCPD. She initially joined the Task Force to track down Mark Mardon/Weather Wizard (Liam McIntyre) after killling her father when she was a teenager. After a series of misunderstandings, Patty decided to leave Central City to study and pursue her dream of being a CSI. Before she left Central City she already knew that Barry was The Flash and two said there good byes.
Of course, the question remains: Which version of Patty Spivot will the audiences see in season 3? There is already an Earth-1 version in plan and an Earth-2 version who was referenced in the show. Now, with the start of season 3 being set in "Flashpoint", will there be another Patty showing up soon.
"The Flash" season 3 will premiere on Oct. 4 at 8pm on the CW Network.
