The New Day has held the Raw Tag Team Championships for more than a year and they are just several months away from breaking the record held by Demolition. However, the latest rumors suggest that they might be able to do it since Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson are expected to win the titles at Clash of Champions.
The trio of Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston and Big E. started as The New Day very slowly to now fanfare until they were given the freedom to be themselves. The world-famous, two-time champs have been one of the most entertaining acts in the WWE for a long time.
They are also selling a lot of merchandise which makes them the favorites of WWE management. However, there time at the top is coming to an end at Clash of Champions when they face Gallows and Anderson.
According to Cageside Seats, the current plan for Raw's first brand-exclusive pay-per-view is for The New Day to lose the titles. Even though it has not been confirmed, the WWE has planted the seeds of a breakup months ago.
It started in the feud against The Wyatt Family but it was not followed up. Nevertheless, cracks on The New Day may come against Gallows and Anderson. They were recently defeated in a non-title match but of course, plans can always change.
The New Day has been around for about two years and they are still entertaining. The crowd still loves them and they are very over. Additionally, their merchandise is among the top sellers for this year as well.
According to The Inquisitr, one of the possible reasons why Gallows and Anderson are going to win the tag titles from The New Day is the team of Enzo Amore and Big Cass. The realest guys in the room are probably the most popular tag team in WWE at the moment.
The report noted that if the WWE can make Gallows and Anderson a force to be reckoned with, it would be a much better story when Enzo and Cass win the titles from them. The New Day will defend the tag team titles on Sunday, September 25 at the Bankers Life FieldHouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
