Famous filmmaker Josh Whedon released a public service announcement video on Sept. 21, Wednesday, featuring "Avengers" star Robert Downey Jr. and other Hollywood stars.  The video contained an anti-Donald Trump message as celebrities implored Americans to vote on Election Day.

The video titled "Important" is the first among Whedon's series of election-related clips to remind Americans to exercise their right to vote on November. The video campaign is part of the director's Save the Day organization's activities, a super political action committee PAC that Whedon founded.

The Save the Day super PAC is an organization that supports presidential candidate Hilary Clinton. Whedon donated $1 million to the group to help fund its various activities and campaigns, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Apart from Downey Jr., the "Important" PSA video also featured some of the stars the Whedon previously worked with. "Avengers" cast members such as Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson and Don Cheadle appeared in the clip. "Grey's Anatomy" actor Jesse Williams also participated in the video, as well as Neil Patrick Harris, Martin Sheen, James Franco and Julianne Moore, among others.

Whedon's video message may not have stated Trump's name. However, some of the lines mentioned in the clip hinted of the said presidential candidate's personality and behavior.

Leslie Odom Jr. talked about whether or not the people should give "a man whose signature move is firing things" the power to control nuclear weapons. The "Hamilton" star appears to be referring to Trump's previous TV show "The Apprentice" where the business mogul fired contestants for failing a certain project or task.

In an interview with BuzzFeed News, Whedon said that his Save the Day organization developed the video campaign to target the people who may not have any plans to vote in the upcoming elections. He also stressed the importance of voting and described it as a "heroic and necessary act."

The director also commented on the number of Hollywood stars that agreed to appear in his video series. He shared that he convinced his famous friends to join the PSA videos as a way to halt Trump's chance to win in the upcoming presidential elections.

Save the Day is expected to release several videos on a weekly basis until the Election Day to be held on Nov. 8. Watch the "Important" video below:
