Avid fans of "Attack on Titan" were shocked when chapter 85 revealed what is hidden inside the Yeager family's basement. The revelation clearly shows that the anime series is about to end as it uncovers the secrets of the world of Titans and that beyond the walls.
From the start of "Attack of Titan" anime, Eren has been seen wearing a key around his neck, and his father, Dr. Yeager, told him that the key was for the family basement. Eren was supposed to return to the basement as soon as possible to discover the truth about the Titans.
Eren has finally reached the basement, five years after "Attack of Titans" chapter 1, but he realizes that the key does not fit in the keyhole. Levi is so devastated that he kicks the door and they finally get in the basement. The group discovers three journals inside Dr. Yeager's desk, which were written by Eren's late father.
Based on one photograph inside one of the journals, Dr. Yeager came from a place beyond the walls where people lived free of the Titans. The group realizes that humanity has not perished since there are more humans outside the walls.
Most likely, "Attack on Titan" chapter 86 will feature the reaction of the group to this interesting discovery. The upcoming chapter could reveal what they decide to do after discovering that they could live in a universe free of Titans.
"Attack on Titan" chapter 86 will explore all the mysteries contained in Dr. Yeager's journals, including the history of the Titans. Furthermore, the group will learn where to find the human settlements that are safe from Titans.
Dr. Yeager's journals will provide the true history of the world before the first Reiss King manipulated the memory of the first inhabitants of the wall, answering the question why it was built in the first place. The group should discover the nature and origin of the titans. While there are already several clues presented throughout the series about its true nature, there is no better person to explain it than Dr. Yeager.
The journals will answer how the first titans were created and their way of reproduction. Perhaps, it will also provide insights about the varying classification of titans and how titan shifters are able the harness its power without turning into a mindless killing machine permanently.
