tvN unveiled its new drama "The K2" on Sept. 23, Friday, where its first two episodes contained several action-packed sequences, special effects reminiscent of the Hollywood movie "Matrix" and other suspenseful scenes. Viewers witnessed YoonA's emotional acting as she portrays Go Anna, a young woman with a traumatic past and the secret daughter of a presidential candidate. The "Healer" actor, who plays the former mercenary turned bodyguard Kim Je Ha, also displayed his impressive action moves in the drama's various fight scenes.

Producing director (PD) Kwak recently commented on the two Korean stars' dedication to their respective roles in an interview with Korean news outlet TV Report. The showrunner complimented both Ji and YoonA for their hard work and complete immersion in their respective roles.

Despite the possibility of getting injured or potentially breaking something, both Ji and YoonA did not hesitate to act out their respective scenes. The Girls Generation group member even sustained a few bruises on her knees when a scene required her to kneel on the street to pick up some coins, according to Kwak.

The PD also conveyed his surprise on how the tvN drama was compared to a "Bond" movie given its special effects and action scenes. However, the "Bond" film comparison also ramped up the pressure of trying to live up to the viewers and critics' expectations. Kwak promised that they will continue to strive hard to deliver a great drama.

Meanwhile, cast member Ji revealed that "The K2"some of the difficulties he experienced while filming the tvN drama during the series' press conference held Sept. 20, Tuesday. Given the hardships of preparing for the role and the many fighting scenes, the Korean actor mentioned that the said series will serve as his last action drama, Yonhap News quoted Ji as saying.

"The K2" airs every Friday and Saturday on tvN.
