Despite not being given an official release date, the next season of "The Seven Deadly Sins" was confirmed to air this year. It is expected the pursuit of Princess Elizabeth continues as she finds the seven Sacred Knights, one or several of which she may finally encounter in season 2.
"The Seven Deadly Sins" is set in a medieval period where throne heirs are reigning. It revolves around the pursuit of Princess Elizabeth to find the seven sacred knights, known as the seven deadly sins, whom she needs to locate to help her regain order in the Liones Kingdom.
The story started when almost all the Holy Knights were killed and the seven sacred knights were pointed out as suspects. It turned out they are not really the culprit of the crime as the royal family have been held up in prison after the series of events, except for Princess Elizabeth who managed to escape.
With the success of its first season, producers decided to create a special Original Video Animation in order to compensate the anticipation of fans for its next season. The OVA contained 4 episodes which aired in TBS in Tokyo and in MBS in Kansai region for 4 consecutive weeks.
The 4-episode OVA of "The Seven Deadly Sins" has just finished airing and fans are back to asking when the season 2 of the much-awaited anime series will be finally launching. According to Crunchyroll, major details of the upcoming installment will be revealed in the 43rd issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine of 2016.
Although the second season is already confirmed, the production has not yet given a final date for the anime's launching but only stated it is slated for a 2016 airing, Release Date Info reported. Still, fans over at When Will Anime are continuously asking for an exact date of the second season.
It is expected the questioning will continue to persist until the production finally gives an exact launching for season 2. As of the moment, followers are advised to keep track until announcement of major details is made.
