Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who declared their break up last week, had earlier signed a firm prenuptial agreement specifying the division of their assets in case the marriage failed.
According to TMZ, the couple, who got into matrimonial affiliation in 2014 after nearly a decade of dating, had an agreement in place outlining the specifics about the allocation of their combined wealth. Sources told the publication that the particular prenuptial agreement is "ironclad."
As of now, Pitt and Jolie's combined wealth amounts to $400 million. Both own a total of 12 properties, all of which were purchased before their marriage.
According to publication, seven properties belong to Pitt, two belong to Jolie, and the rest to both. The ones owned jointly include a vineyard in France, an apartment in New York, and a mansion in New Orleans; these are divvied up clearly in the prenuptial agreement.
More information has been sought from different sources but to no avail. Efforts of trying to get a detailed report from one of Pitt's representative reportedly failed.
Real estate, however, may be the least of Pitt's and Jolie's worries. Following their separation, several things have gone out of hand. Their family ties have been adversely affected leaving frustrations in the cases of both actors.
Jolie's dad, who is also an actor, has since commented on Pitt's and Jolie's divorce saying that his daughter's decision was of "concern" to him. When Jolie filed for divorce, she requested for the custody of the couple's six children: Pax, Maddox, Shiloh, Zahara, Vivienne, and Knox.
Close sources claim that the separation was listed as the beginning of Sept. 15 and was as a result of Pitt's parenting style, consumption of alcohol, and marijuana. It is also alleged that he was abusive to his children.
