Another newsworthy viral video in the form of the "Pen Pineapple Apple Pen" or the PPAP song has circulated around the web and is infecting everyone it touches with an earworm.

The video itself does not have anything special at all. It does not have someone being hurt due to stupidity nor does it have amazing feats which are often the factors for a successful viral video.

Instead, the PPAP video is just a song about a pen, an apple and a pineapple. In fact, the whole song just uses the three words and nothing else which makes its success all the more baffling for some.

Japanese musician and comedian Kazuhiko Kosaka plays the fictional character named Piko-Taro who sings the Pen Pineapple Apple Pen song, The Verge has learned. The song itself does not make sense but it does make for a very catchy tune which may explain why the PPAP video went viral in a short amount of time.

Even the Pen Pineapple Apple Pen YouTube video's description does not offer a better context or explanation of the PPAP song. Interestingly, the video itself was uploaded more than a month ago but is just blowing up now.

" Singer-songwriter "pico Taro" from Chiba of the Furusaka University demon king one push. The "pico Taro animation project" first that began at last! "Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen", also known as "PPAP" which is representative music! It is ... to the person whom I do not entrust with music to affect a heart," the YouTube video's description states.

Piko-Taro is even said to be dressed similarly to the popular One Piece manga series' Admiral Kizaru "Borsalino," The Star Online reported. As of this writing, the original YouTube video has more than 7.5 million views and it continues to climb faster.

PPAP Pen Pineapple Apple Pen Song Lyrics

P-P-A-P. I have a pen. I have an apple. Uhh! Apple pen. I have a pen. I have pineapple. Uhh! Pineapple pen. Apple pen, pineapple pen... Uhh! Pen-pineapple-apple-pen. Pen-pineapple-apple-pen.

Several remixes and covers of the song have already started to appear on social media sites and even YouTube itself. The PPAP fever is just starting and there seems to be no signs of slowing down as Pen Pineapple Apple Pen takes over the world.
