The MacBook Pro 2016 is nearing its anticipated release as Apple hopes to end the year on a high note. Considering its last refresh was way back in 2012, techies are eager to see if the rumored specs are spot on as speculated.

The MacBook Pro 2016 picks off from where the iPhone 7 and Apple Watch 2, the features of which have so far come from the grapevine. A 13-inch and 15-inch variant will reportedly debut by the second half of October, both armed with different specs.

The processor that would be used by the MacBook Pro 2016 is still uncertain though the belief is that it will be the latest Kaby Lake chips from Intel. But all this would depend if Intel was able to deliver the SoC in time, Apple Insider reported.

Alternatively, the likely recourse is to see Skylake processors in use. To cover up the Kaby Lake absence, an advanced AMD GPU may be inserted to ramp up support for the expected high-resolution display.

Other features to look forward to include the OLED touch sensor that will take the place of the old function keys, Apple Touch ID, a fingerprint sensor and USB Type-C ports. The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to sport a thinner design and may reportedly do away with the headphone jacks as well.

Given the potential specs that the MacBook Pro 2016 may carry, the expected date of release is Oct. 24. However, there seems to be another constraint to all that and it has to do with the operating system.

The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to come armed with a macOS 10.12.1 though Apple is believed to be working on the OS. The latest report out is that Apple has released the third masOS Sierra 10.12.1 beta for public testers.

The latest beta is expected to feature more bug fixes and performance improvements, Mac Rumors reported. If all goes well, the MacBook Pro 2016 should debut as scheduled this October at a keynote presentation on the 24th.
