“Pokemon Go” continues its run of being one of the popular mobile gaming apps in the market, punctuated by the fact that it is back at the top of the charts. The game reclaimed the top spot as it continues to jockey with other games such as “Clash Royale,” “Game of War” and “Mobile Strike.”

“Pokemon Go” weathered questions arising from previous months following a decline in active players. This was reported back in July where the Daily Mail singled out the loss of roughly 10 million players.

The belief then was “Pokemon Go” may have peaked too soon. Some reasoned out that one reason could be Niantic’s offensive of cracking the whip on erring players who use third-party apps and bots, both of which are against Niantic’s terms of service.

Niantic did some minor tweaks to the game as they tried to improve “Pokemon Go's” playing experience. While some found them less stellar, the major updates are believed to be saved for next year when “Pokemon Go” Gen 2 is deployed.

Other than that, Niantic barely lifted a finger to entice active players to return to “Pokemon Go.” Regardless, the augmented reality app is once again the top-grossing iPhone game in the United states according to figures from Sensor Tower and App Annie.

Bear in mind that this milestone only covers iOS users. The Android version is ranked third over at the Google Play, trailing “Mobile Strike” and “Game of War.” The ranking seems a bit strange considering the Android version is more prone to cheats and hacks compared to the strict policies applied by Apple.

Moving forward, this development speaks well for Niantic’s patented augmented reality game. The company plans to make “Pokemon Go” available in more countries such as China and South Korea once they are able to resolve the issued tied up Google Services, the Wall Street Journal reported.

With Niantic continuously racking in millions in revenue from about 15 countries, the numbers are likely to skyrocket once it expands and covers areas which have yet to get into the “Pokemon Go” craze.
