Expectations were high on Friday, Oct. 7, that “Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki would bag the Grand Excellence Award (Daesang) at the Korea Drama Award. However, the winner was Kim So Yeon of “Happy Home.”
The 31-year-old actor’s loss led to speculations that Song Joong-ki was depressed by the turn of events. Some entertainment websites even reported that his co-star, Song Hye Kyo, went out of her way to comfort him, according to Chatt Sports Net.
However, like other speculations in the lives of the two – such as they are in a secret romantic relationship, Song Joong-ki would propose to her on his birthday, she is allegedly pregnant and they are in the cast of the second season of the 16-episode blockbuster Hallyu – are mere rumors that rely on unverified reports.
Part of the comforting is that the two allegedly went away on a secret vacation in Norway. Her last post on Instagram is when she was in Italy. She has not posted any Norway photos in her Twitter account.
Other speculations about Song Hye Kyo is that she would not only be the star of “Descendants of the Sun 2” but also serve as its executive producer.
The idea of Song Joong-ki becoming depressed may be stretching the truth too much because almost two weeks ago, he got a similar award from the 2016 APAN Awards.
