Many MMA fans have been looking for a superfight between Anderson Silva and Georges St-Pierre, who are considered by most experts as two of the greatest ever. A fight between the two legends will be watched by many despite it being several years late.

In a recent Instagram post by Kalyl Silva, Anderson's son, he teased the possibility of a match between his father and GSP. He captioned his post, "Christmas month should be exciting." Kalyl was reportedly talking about a Silva vs. St-Pierre fight at UFC 206 in Toronto at the end of the year.

However, UFC President Dana White immediately shot down the rumors of a possible superfight in an interview with Dan Hardy on BT Sport. White mentioned that GSP is not coming out of retirement despite all the rumors of a comeback fight.

"I'm telling you again, I don't think GSP wants to fight. I keep saying this. You guys know fighters as much as I know fighters, do you think GSP wants to fight? GSP wasn't crazy about fighting when he was fighting! Now three years later he's just dying to fight? He's not. I don't think he is," White said.

According to MMA Fighting, St-Pierre has been renegotiating a new deal with the UFC for the past couple of months. He has also been put back in the USADA testing pool since it was reported that he wants to fight at UFC 206.

As of this writing, nothing has been confirmed regarding a fight between Silva and St-Pierre. On the other hand, White's comments can also be taken with a grain of salt since the UFC probably want to surprise people.

The UFC President famously got furious when Brock Lesnar's return was leaked in the media. Even though Silva vs. GSP is several years late, the UFC would still want to make it happen since it will make an enormous amount of money. UFC fighter Patrick Cote compared it to the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao fight in 2015.

GSP was reportedly back in training to see if his body holds up and if the desire is still there. On the other hand, Silva is coming off a loss at UFC 200 against Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier. He is already past his prime but so is GSP.

UFC 202 will be held in Toronto, Canada on December 10 and it is the perfect place for a GSP return while a fight against Silva is just a bonus. Check out the video below for an interview with Silva about GSP being the greatest fight ever.
