In the club's first game without sacked head coach Dieter Hecking, interim manager Valerien Ismael was not able to lead the team to a win.
Swede forward Emil Forsberg netted the lone goal in the match with a left-footed shot in the 70th minute as the Wolves looked disoriented on the field.
However, Wolfsburg is projected to win over Darmstadt in this match between two reeling clubs.
